Wild Food Fun and Education

The Midwest Wild Harvest Festival invites people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Held at the beginning of the fall harvest season, the festival is a celebration of the Midwest's bounty of wild food. The weekend combines recreation and education into an unforgettable experience.
Participants will learn about wild edibles and their uses from some of the most knowledgeable instructors and speakers in the United States. There will be activities for children and adults, field trips, presentations, demonstrations, a cooking contest, a potluck banquet, and lots of hands-on activities. You'll have a chance to interact with other foraging enthusiasts from around the region and beyond.

 Again this year we even have the pleasure of working with Alan Bergo (Forager Chef) who will be heading up the kitchen.

Meals                                                       Lodging & Facilities

All meals will be served in the dining hall of Cedar Lodge. Friday’s dinner will be a wild food potluck featuring entrées, side dishes, breads, jams and jellies, desserts, and beverages contributed by all.  Wild food content is encouraged; in fact there is an award for the first place dish. The event staff will be preparing four meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. These meals will be served at the times indicated in the schedule of activities. 
For all the meals we will provide a vegetarian option; if you are vegetarian, please note this on your registration form.

Participants will have the option of camping (your RV or tent) or sleeping in men’s or women’s dorms. There are no hook-ups for RVs. The dorms have showers and restrooms that will be shared by the campers. Eagle Lodge can hold 33 people and Cedar Lodge can hold 59 people.  Badger Camp does NOT supply bedding, towels or washcloths. Camping is recommended for families with small children. People may also choose to stay in a nearby town if these accommodations do not meet your needs. Wyalusing State Park is about 12 miles away for anyone interested/needing RV hook-ups. 

Rules and Regulations

Those attending the Midwest Wild Harvest Festival are privileged guests of Badger Camp. By attending, we agree to respectfully abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the camp for use of the grounds and facilities. These include, but are not limited to: 

• No pets are allowed
• No smoking on grounds
• Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Parking is restricted to designated areas.
• Alcoholic beverages and recreational drugs are prohibited at the Wild Harvest Festival
• Event organizers have obtained special permission for certain edible plants to be harvested, but only under the supervision of event staff on educational plant walks. Flora and fauna shall otherwise be left alone.

Cost of event: $200 (15 yo and over)  
$100 children (5-11 yo)
$125 children (12-14 yo)

​There is a $40 cancellation fee 31 or more days prior to the festival.
There is a $50 cancellation fee 30 or fewer days prior to the festival IF we find a replacement for you.  
​No refunds the week of the event.
